About the drip
What the Detox Drip is
This is our lower-dose glutathione infusion. Glutathione is a tripeptide (three amino acids: glutamine, cysteine and glycine) made naturally in every cell of the body, with its highest concentration in the liver. It is one of the body's main antioxidants.
Given intravenously, glutathione is supplied as an unlicensed medicine on prescription, which is why a prescriber reviews every booking. The drip also contains vitamin C and a B complex.
A note on "detox". Your liver and kidneys detoxify your blood continuously, and there is no robust evidence that an IV infusion speeds that up in a healthy person. We keep the name because it is what people search for; we do not claim the drip detoxifies you.

What to expect

Settle in
You will be seated in a reclining chair in a private treatment room.

The cannula
A trained clinician inserts a small cannula, usually into the arm or hand, and connects the infusion. Most people describe a small scratch and nothing more.

The drip
You are free to read, work or rest while the drip runs. We check on you throughout.

Afterwards
We stay with you for a short period afterwards. You can drive, work and carry on with your day immediately.

Safety and suitability
Every IV infusion at FastHeal Clinic Woking starts with a consultation and health screening. A prescriber reviews your medical history, current medicines and any allergies before anything is prepared. Some people should not have an IV nutrient infusion, including anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, anyone with kidney disease, heart failure, or certain metabolic conditions, and anyone under 18. If we are not confident an infusion is appropriate for you, we will say so and suggest an alternative.

Frequently asked questions
Does glutathione lighten skin?
IV glutathione is marketed abroad for skin lightening. We do not offer it for that purpose, do not make that claim, and the evidence for it is poor. If skin is your concern, the Anti-Ageing Drip page explains what we can and cannot say.
Why is IV glutathione unlicensed?
There is no UK-licensed injectable glutathione product. It is supplied as a "special" against a prescription from a UK manufacturer that holds an MHRA specials licence. That is standard practice and the reason a prescriber consultation is mandatory.
Is 600mg or 1,200mg better?
There is no clinical guideline for either dose in healthy people. Most clinics offer 600mg as a starting dose. The prescriber will discuss which is appropriate.
